Guildford Railway Station circa 1920
This has to be one of the nicest cards that I have ever purchased. This card dates from 1920, but the moment I saw the picture I recognised the railway station. It didn't look all that different from when I grew up in the 1970s.
The used to be taxi cabs aligning the street on the left hand side and one of the buildings on the left was the shop of a stamp dealer, where I spent many hours selecting and adding to my childhood collection.

It is gorgeous Julie, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLovely postcard published by W. H. Applebee of Ashford. This photograph was taken in about 1912, give or take a year.
